I figured out why my lens was taking blurry photos. Rather, Dru!!! pointed out that the lens was on manual focus instead of automatic. Which….doesn’t work when you’re using a timer. So stupids. SO LAST BLURRY PHOTOS.
I wore this to go to this club that I don’t particularly care for, but is the “usual place” that many of our friends frequent on Saturday nights. On the way out, we exited following a dude leaving the club by himself. I [drunkenly] commented that he struck an uncanny resemblance to Fiance’s dad. WHICH HE TOTALLY DID – DOWN TO THE GLASSES. Fiance [drunkenly] agreed that the dude looked like his dad.
Whereupon the doppelganger turned around and I saw that he was a bit older than us….maybe pushing 40? He then proceeded to accost us and instigate a fight.
*takes off glasses and places them on the hood of a nearby car*
“You saying I look like your DAD? COME ON! I’ll take all you on right now!“
SERIOUSLY? I almost burst out laughing because:
1. He TOOK OFF HIS GLASSES in order to fight. How sensible!
2. The fact that I had to explain that he LITERALLY looked like Fiance’s dad….and we, in fact, were not trying to imply that he was “old.”
Anyhow, all parties ultimately left unscathed.
The end.

Another
Phi-Style +
WeWearThings collabo! This time, shot by our friend Annie of
Annie Cat Photo.
The inspiration behind the shoot originally came from the Emma Watson Teen Vogue shoot – romantic, vintage, Victorian, luxe, rich jewel tones, and lots of baubles. The more we prepped for the shoot, the more
DIY-centric it became. In the end, we ended using Issa’s handmade skirts and making almost all our own accessories – the flower brooches, bib-necklaces, and of course, the Maison Michel-inspired lace ears.
We loaded everything up in a Honda Civic and took over a [
still-functioning!] train yard off of I-10.
The sign of a great photog? The ability to make you look great and effortless when in fact, there was awkward face times, trembling arms from hanging off sides of trains, and having Fiance and
Dru!!! swat 15 mosquitos off your legs in between shots.
Aside from being the mosquito-swatter, Dru!!! photographed us as well. His version coming up later!

A man was born named Ralph Lifshitz, who later came to be known as Ralph Lauren. From growing up in the bronx Ralph Lifshitz had a dream to become a millionare, as stated in his high school year book. (As a side note it just so happened that Calvin Klein also grew up in the same neighborhood.) Ralph went on to college to study business and ended up only completing two years before joining the army. After being discharged he ended up working for Brooks Brothers as a salesman. After that he decided to open a neckwear shop using his own designs and labeled them as “Polo”. From there Ralph Lauren has grown his neckwear store into a billion dollar fashion empire.
